Amber Tiles – one of Australia’s leading providers of floor and wall tiles, natural stone, pavers, retaining walls and artificial grass – has signed a seven-year lease for 10,000 square metres of the Blacktown Distribution Centre. This space constitutes its new headquarters and warehouse.

The group has moved to premises on Bessemer St, Blacktown, previously occupied by Metcash for its main New South Wales grocery distribution centre servicing IGA Supermarkets and other independent retailers.

Amber Tiles, which was previously based at Prospect, now supplies 26 franchised and company-owned stores across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, as well as three stores in Queensland, from the Blacktown distribution centre.

Having supplied tiles for 41 years, Amber’s range of indoor and outdoor wall and floor tiles includes bathroom tiles, natural stone floor tiles, porcelain floor and wall tiles, clay and concrete pavers, stone and pool pavers, feature mosaics and cladding.

The Blacktown warehouse now contains 7000 pallets or 150,000 square metres of tiles and pavers, which are regularly supplemented with frequent launches of new product ranges.

The group is experiencing strong growth with the current boom in home building and renovation across the eastern states, requiring larger premises located close to the major M7 and M4 motorways. Amber Tiles has already experienced improvement in its operational efficiencies with the relocation to the new premises.

Amber started in Sydney in 1973 and traded as a privately owned company store structure. A management buyout in 1986 saw the Amber Group Australia Ltd formed and its 12 extant stores in NSW and the ACT subsequently franchised.
